The
Hy-Lok tube fitting design is functionally interchangeable with any other
major brand of tube fittings. The
definition of functional interchange is an existing swaged ferrule set and
nut on the end of a tube from one manufacturer can be mated to the body of
the other manufacturer with no performance concern. The basis for
this is in the fact that the common machined area inside the fitting body
is the 40° cone angle where the ferrules insert. This common thread
allows total interchange and performance, not to mention COST SAVINGS.
Functional
interchange is separate and apart from intermixing.
Intermixing is using any combination of the four components (nut,
front ferrule, back ferrule, body) from the two manufacturers to assemble
a connection. Due to specific
design differences between manufacturer's of tube fittings from
1/2" O.D. size and up, individual components cannot be randomly
intermixed to create an assembly.
HOWEVER,
Hy-lok’s two ferrule design being widely accepted, it is totally
interchangeable and individual component intermixable with the other most
recognized brands in the industry.
